Services Offered

Connect with someone who truly understands through CMHA Calgary’s Peer Support service. Our trained Peer Support Workers use their lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges to offer compassionate, non-clinical support — helping you find hope, build resilience, and take the next steps in your recovery.

  • Adults (18+) looking for non-clinical, peer support who are experiencing mental health or substance use concerns.

Mastering

ADHD

A 2-week program offering practical tools, strategies, and support to improve focus, organization, and emotional regulation, while building confidence and connection in a safe, therapist-led group environment.

Costs:

  • $50 for both sessions (can pay $25 each week)

Serving:

  • Adults (18+) looking to strengthen their skills in organization, time management, impulse control, and self-regulation.

Mastering

Anger

A 4-week group program teaching skills to understand triggers, manage emotions, and build healthier responses to anger.

Costs:

  • $100 for all 4 sessions (can pay $25 each week)

Serving:

  • Adults (18+) who feel anger is impacting their relationships, work, or daily life, or who have been asked by an employer, school, or probation officer to seek support.

Support

Find comfort and connection in Your Counselling’s ongoing grief groups—therapist-led sessions focused on understanding loss, coping strategies, and meaningful support.

Costs:

  • $300 for 4 sessions (can pay $100 each week)

Serving:

  • Teens (13+), Adults, Families, and Couples looking to understand the emotional impact of loss, navigate challenges in daily life, and develop coping strategies.

WHAT TO EXPECT

How  does it work?

Choose and book a session.

  You provide brief information on this secure site. Then choose the counselling time that works for you.   

Receive Confirmation.

You will receive an email confirmation. At your appointment time, the counsellor will call you. 

Your Counselling Session.

One 45-90-minute counselling session may be enough to address your needs. Other support options can also be discussed during your session.

Fee Structure


Community Connect YYC is committed to ensuring community members get the help they need when they need it, with as few barriers as possible, including finances. Some services found on the site are offered at no cost, some on a sliding scale basis, and others with a model that allows you to choose your own session fee. Every partner organization ensures that finances will never get in the way of accessing the service you need. For more information on the specific fee model of the service you selected, please review the service description or speak to the service provider with whom you book.
