Carya
An 8-week empowering group program tailored to emerging adults (aged 18-30) who are transitioning into the challenges of adulthood. This includes independence, taking responsibility, and building personal resources.
Through a blend of guided group conversations and reflective journaling, participants explore themes life self-compassion, courage, worthiness, and healthy relationships, both in themselves and others. The group supports participants in becoming more confident, emotionally resilient, and intentional as they shape their adult lives.
Who Is This For?
- Emerging adults (aged 18-30) who are:
- Facing challenges around independence, decision-making, and personal growth
- Those looking to build confidence, self-worth, and emotional insight
- People open to group discussion and reflective journaling
Note: Free childcare available upon request.
What To Expect?
Participants can expect:
- 8 weekly sessions, each 2 hours in length
- Facilitated conversations and journaling exercises of topics including:
- Healthy relationships with yourself and others
- How to be confident in who you are and how you communicate
- Building self-compassion, self-worth, and self-acceptance

Note: When booking through CCYYC, please be aware that this is an intake appointment to determine eligibility. During your intake appointment, a Carya staff member will assist in finding the next available group or recommend alternative services if a group is not currently available. This group program has a firm start date, and late entry is not permitted. If the group has already started, you will be placed on a waitlist for the next available service.

How does it work?

You provide brief information on this secure site. Then choose the counselling time that works for you.
Receive Confirmation.
You will receive an email confirmation. At your appointment time, the counsellor will call you.
Your Counselling Session.
One 45-90-minute counselling session may be enough to address your needs. Other support options can also be discussed during your session.
Fee Structure
Community Connect YYC is committed to ensuring community members get the help they need when they need it, with as few barriers as possible, including finances. Some services found on the site are offered at no cost, some on a sliding scale basis, and others with a model that allows you to choose your own session fee. Every partner organization ensures that finances will never get in the way of accessing the service you need.
