An 8-week mindfulness group for adults who want to explore how slowing down, being present, and practicing self-kindness to improve mental well-being. Designed for those new to mindfulness or want more guidance, this group blends education with practical strategies to help participants build and maintain a mindfulness practice.
Topics include reducing anxiety, managing emotions, and increasing gratitude and resilience. Sessions are supportive, interactive, and held in welcoming community spaces with free childcare available upon request.
Who Is This For?
- Adults (18+) looking to:
- Reduce stress, anxiety, or depressive symptoms
- Learn about mindfulness and how to incorporate it into daily life
- Seek personal growth in a group-based, supportive setting

What To Expect?
Participants can expect:
- 8 weekly sessions, each 2 hours in length.

Bowmont Commons:
Tuesdays, Sept 9 - Nov 4, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Village Commons
Mondays, Oct 20 - Dec 1, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Note: When booking through CCYYC, please be aware that this is an intake appointment to determine eligibility. During your intake appointment, a Carya staff member will assist in finding the next available group or recommend alternative services if a group is not currently available. This group program has a firm start date, and late entry is not permitted. If the group has already started, you will be placed on a waitlist for the next available service.

How does it work?
Choose and book a session.
You provide brief information on this secure site. Then choose the counselling time that works for you.
Receive Confirmation.
You will receive an email confirmation. At your appointment time, the counsellor will call you.
Your Counselling Session.
One 45-90-minute counselling session may be enough to address your needs. Other support options can also be discussed during your session.
Fee Structure
Community Connect YYC is committed to ensuring community members get the help they need when they need it, with as few barriers as possible, including finances. Some services found on the site are offered at no cost, some on a sliding scale basis, and others with a model that allows you to choose your own session fee. Every partner organization ensures that finances will never get in the way of accessing the service you need.
