Pregnancy & Early Postpartum Drop-In Support
Kindred Connections Society
A weekly drop-in time for clients, individuals, and families who are pregnant to connect with a Kindred POST Outreach Worker for assistance with: connecting or registering with the POST program; completing intake paperwork and goal setting; completing applications and referrals to basic needs (including baby supplies), housing, and financial; support in following up on completed referrals and applications; support in completing a POST Portfolio; connecting for emotional support; exploring other resources and community supports based on individualized needs and goals. Individuals who are already registered with POST or who have been referred to POST may benefit from connecting through drop-in if there are barriers to communicating/scheduling over text, phone, or email. Clients registered in POST, as well as those not registered, are welcome.
A weekly drop-in time for individuals and families who are pregnant or newly postpartum to connect with Kindred's Prenatal Outreach Support Team (POST) staff for assistance with completing applications and referrals to basic needs (including baby supplies), housing, and financial support. Staff can also support with goal creation and first steps. Participants can connect with others in a similar stage of life for emotional support; exploring other resources and community supports based on individualized needs and goals. Drop-in participation reduces barriers to communicating over text, phone, or email.
The POST Registered Nurse will be available every other week on site to support with basic perinatal health check ins or follow up support. Services offered may include: fetal heart tones, basic vitals. The POST Calgary Police Services Constable will be available once a month to support with navigating current warrants and charges, or to connect regarding safety and justice system navigation.
This is a drop-in service, and no registration is required!
Who Is This For?
For individuals and families (18+) who are pregnant and want to:
- Connect with a POST Outreach Worker for registration, goal setting, referrals, applications, and basic needs support
- Access emotional support and connect with community resources based on individual needs
- Receive on-site support from a POST RN and CPS Constable for perinatal health, safety, and justice system navigation

How does it work?
Choose and book a session.
You provide brief information on this secure site. Then choose the counselling time that works for you.
Receive Confirmation.
You will receive an email confirmation. At your appointment time, the counsellor will call you.
Your Counselling Session.
One 45-90-minute counselling session may be enough to address your needs. Other support options can also be discussed during your session.
Fee Structure
Community Connect YYC is committed to ensuring community members get the help they need when they need it, with as few barriers as possible, including finances. Some services found on the site are offered at no cost, some on a sliding scale basis, and others with a model that allows you to choose your own session fee. Every partner organization ensures that finances will never get in the way of accessing the service you need.
