Supportive Counselling
At the Centre for Sexuality, we offer short-term, solutions-focused counselling to support individuals in navigating a range of sexual and relational health topics. Sessions are provided by a registered social worker in a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment.
We provide all-options about pregnancy counselling, including support about parents, adoption, and abortion decisions, as well as post-abortion counselling.
Additional areas of focus include:
- Gender and sexual diversity support, including: transgender support and resources, identity exploration, coming out as 2SLGBTQ+, support and resources for parents/caregivers or 2SLGBTQ+ children and youth.
- Relationship difficulties, including: setting and maintaining boundaries, consent, communication, and decision making.
- Sexual health support, including STI information, and support for sexual difficulties.
- All options pregnancy counselling (parenting, adoption, and abortion) and post-abortion counselling.
Who Is This For?
Teens (13+), Adults, and Families/Couples including, but not limited to those struggling or curious about:
- Gender identity and/or sexual orientation
- Coming out and transitioning (social and/or medical)
- 2SLGBTQ+ identity and resources (including for parents/caregivers)
- Healthy relationships, consent, communication, and boundaries.
- Relationship difficulties, including non monogamy/polyamory
- STI-related concerns and diagnosis
- Pregnancy options (abortion, parenting, adoption)
- Sexual health education and support

How does it work?
Choose and book a session.
You provide brief information on this secure site. Then choose the counselling time that works for you.
Receive Confirmation.
You will receive an email confirmation. At your appointment time, the counsellor will call you.
Your Counselling Session.
One 45-90-minute counselling session may be enough to address your needs. Other support options can also be discussed during your session.
Fee Structure
Community Connect YYC is committed to ensuring community members get the help they need when they need it, with as few barriers as possible, including finances. Some services found on the site are offered at no cost, some on a sliding scale basis, and others with a model that allows you to choose your own session fee. Every partner organization ensures that finances will never get in the way of accessing the service you need.
